All good things come to an end. Sadly, the Church Inn closed on the 28th April 2008.
Whilst certain days were doing very well at the Church (our Tuesdays, and music events at the weekend), the days in between could be exceedingly quiet. We've got lots of plans for the future - both in the short term and the medium term. We'll post details on the mailing list when they're confirmed.
It's a fitting testament to Leigh's fine cellar skills that the Church has been selected for inclusion in the next CAMRA good beer guide.
The Church Inn itself was nice, but the same can't be said for a couple of the locals ("local", if you know what I mean), and the area, which is largely populated by crackheads and thieves. If you visit the area in the day, it's quite depressing how many of the shops are boarded up and the number of people hanging around badly in need of a hug from young Dave Cameron.
The Church Inn could have been a beacon of hope for a desperately run down part of Birmingham, but it seems it wasn't to be.
Oh well!
